My animal needs physiotherapy - what to do?

Animal physiotherapy in Berlin - practice and mobile

Procedure

During a noncommittal telephone conversation you tell me what problems your animal has and which conspicuous features you notice. I will ask you to fill out an online questionnaire. The Chirodogs-questionnaire and all details can be found here.

It is very important to know whether your animal is already under medical treatment and whether there are any findings, operation reports or x-rays that you can provide me with. If necessary, I will contact the attending veterinarian - provided your consent - to clarify any open questions.

Animal physio in my practice in Berlin-Neukölln

As long as you and your pet can easily get to me, our first appointment together - and also subsequent appointments - usually take place in my practice in Berlin-Neukölln.

On the basis of the information gathered in advance, an extensive examination of your animal is now carried out. If possible, a first treatment will also take place and you will receive detailed step-by-step instructions on how you can optimally support your pet until the next appointment.

At our second appointment, I prepare a report and specify the treatment methods and the short- and long-term therapy goals that we will work on together in the coming period.

Your support is crucial to the success of your pet's physiotherapy treatment. You are present at every appointment, spoil him with treats, talk to him and make sure he does his homework. You will see that your pet will love our joint practice appointments after a short familiarisation phase.

Depending on how serious the problems of your pet are, appointments will be more frequent in the beginning. The interval between treatments will increase as your pet makes the first progress. All developments are documented in writing, so that you always know exactly what we have achieved so far and what road lies ahead.

In order to prepare your pet optimally for a physiotherapy appointment, it is necessary that it does not eat for two hours before the treatment and can relieve itself beforehand. If necessary, bring a favourite blanket and some delicious biscuits for your pet so that it feels completely comfortable.

Animal physio at your home

If the journey to the practice is too strenuous for your pet at the moment or if your pet is permanently too weak, our first appointment together - and possibly also the subsequent appointments - will take place at your home. This way your pet has less stress and can be treated in its familiar environment. Especially very anxious and old animals as well as patients with great limitations appreciate the Chirodogs home visits.
